NHL DFS Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings – 1/25/18

Welcome to another edition of ResearchFantasy’s NHL Breakdown. These picks are what I consider to be the best play of the day, relative to their price. One of the most important things we must consider in daily fantasy is how many points a player gets per dollar. It helps us identify value plays to pair with studs that we know will produce in order to maximize our potential points in lineups. I also try to identify plays that can be used in either cash games or tournaments. Typically, when I build my cash games, I am looking for players that have the best floor combined with good upside. If you have any questions, comments or suggestions, please let us know!

Prices listed are FanDuel/DraftKings

Jack Eichel (7800/6800) – It is really tough to look past what Eichel has been doing as of late. We want to ride the hot hand while they are hot and that is exactly what hes got going on. Vancouver is going to give up some goals here and Eichel is highly likely to be involved in the scoring.

Aleksander Barkov (7300/6500) – Barkov is back on home ice and this is the situation I like him in more. He will be taking on a Washington team that leaves a lot to be desired on the defensive side of things. I am expecting him to put together another solid game tonight.

Brayden Point  (6200/6000) – Point has been awesome as of late and even the price is getting up there, I am still rolling with him tonight. The Flyers are proficient at giving up points, and I think we will see Point get into the back of the net tonight.

Wings –

Vladimir Tarasenko (8300/7300) – Tarasenko had a nice rebound game against the Senators the last time he took the ice. He gets another nice matchup against the Avalanche. I am going to roll with him expecting to have a multi point effort in this game, and that is highly appealing.

Brock Boeser (6400/6600) – It is crazy to see how his price has gone up from the start of the season, but it is fully warranted. While Buffalo just stomped Edmonton, I dont think it is going to be the same thing here. Vancouver should have plenty of opportunities, and Boeser should take advantage of them.

Max Paciorrety (7200/6200) – It was awful to be a Pacioretty owner on Tuesday. Sure, he took four shots, but he was also on the ice while two goals were scored and did not get a piece of them. I am going back to the well here for this one and hope that he plays a little more inspired.

Defensemen –

John Klingberg (6800/6400) – There is no reason to doubt Klingberg right now. He has been amazing and there is nothing showing that he is going to slow down. He might be somewhat costly, but he should continue to produce. He is my top defender.

Mark Giordano (5900/5700) – Giordano was involved in the scoring for Calgary when they last played, and I have little doubt that he will be involved again tonight. Edmonton does not seem intimidating right now, so lets feel free to attack them.

Shea Theodore (4300/4700) – I do want to get some piece of Vegas as they are at home and taking on the woeful Islanders. I would expect for the Knights to be able to score and Theordore provides some good exposure to them at a cheap price.

Goalies –

Marc Andre-Fleury (8400/7800) – Fleury at home is pretty much a lock. I dont even think it makes sense to explain it – the numbers do the talking.
