NHL FanDuel & DraftKings DFS Picks – 2/3/17
Welcome to another edition of ResearchFantasy’s NHL Breakdown. These picks are what I consider to be the best play of the day, relative to their price. One of the most important things we must consider in daily fantasy is how many points a player gets per dollar. It helps us identify value plays to pair with studs that we know will produce in order to maximize our potential points in lineups. I also try to identify plays that can be used in either cash games or tournaments. Typically, when I build my cash games, I am looking for players that have the best floor combined with good upside. If you have any questions, comments or suggestions, please let us know!
Prices listed are FD/DK.
Sidney Crosby (9000/8200) – Usually on short slates, I jus default to a guy like Crosby, but tonight it’s even better, as he has the best matchup at the position on the slate. I think he’s the easy guy to use as a staple to your lineup, and could be in line for a huge game as well.
Alexander Wennberg (6300/5700) – It just so happens that the Blue Jackets find themselves in a great position tonight as well, seeing as the Penguins have some difficulties defending this year as well. These Blue Jackets can surprise you and post some pretty big games, and I think we should have an exciting game tonight.
Jordan Eberle (6500/4900) – I like the prospects for the Oilers tonight, despite being on the road. I really did have a hard time figuring out which guy I would settle on, and especially on DraftKings, I really like Eberle. He’s been a pretty consistent performer and I think he should be a good bet to get something done against the Hurricanes tonight.
Jeff Skinner (6600/6400) – Skinner is always one of my favorite players, and especially with this being a home game, it’s like a no brainer for me. I am expecting him to score at least once here, and I think there is upside for a nice multi point outing, so keep him at least somewhere on your radar.
Nick Leddy (5500/4800) – Leddy gets the top matchup on the board at the position as the Islanders roll in to the Motor City to take on the Red Wings. He’s priced nicely, and has huge upside in a game that can definitely get ugly. I think he’s someone you’ll want to have in your lineups tonight.
Cam Fowler (5300/5600) – Fowler is one of my favorites at the position, and he gets another favorable situation as the Ducks head to Florida to take on the Panthers. He’s in a good position to return good value at his price, so make sure to get some exposure to him tonight.
Pittsburgh Goalie – Tonight’s options are just as bad as last nights, so I’m going to side with a Pittsburgh team that I have my fingers crossed will play better at the position in the second half. Murray is costly, but he could be worth it.
