NHL DFS Picks – 1/4/17
We are back with another NHL DFS Breakdown. Wednesday is going to bring us a nice six game slate that should be fun to watch and throw some lineups into. As a result of the slate being smaller, and me being under a time crunch, I’m going to give only a few plays per position.
Prices listed are FD/DK.
Henrik Sedin (5500/4500) – The Sedin’s are guys that I write up fairly often, but don’t get seem to come through for me. I think tonight will be different, as they get to take on the Arizona Coyotes on home ice. The Coyotes are a team that I love to target on the road, so I’ll have a lot of the Sedin’s at this price tonight.
Vincent Trocheck (6300/5500) – With Alexander Barkov out for awhile, I like the upside of Trocheck. He’s priced fairly, and I think he’s got a good deal of upside tonight against the Jets who are traveling on their second night of a back to back. He’s got a ton of opportunity here, as the Jets aren’t great at stopping the puck.
Johnny Gaudreau (7500/7300) – I love Gaudreau when he is playing on home ice, and I love him even more when he is playing on home ice against a team like the Avalanche. Nothing is going to stand in my way tonight from playing him everywhere, unless by some strange stroke of luck he doesn’t play.
Alexander Radulov (6200/5600) – Radulov’s price is enough to push some people off of him, but I’ll bite in tournaments tonight against the Dallas Stars. The Stars are pretty bad in terms of keeping other teams from scoring, so there is definitely quite a bit of built in upside in this matchup tonight.
Keith Yandle (5500/4400) – I’ll be using a lot of players against the Jets tonight, and Yandle is priced perfectly, especially on DraftKings tonight. I’ll use him on FanDuel too, don’t get me wrong, but the price is especially nice over on DK. I think he should be able to hit value tonight pretty easily.
Cam Fowler (5200/5100) – Fowler hasn’t done anything overly impressive as of late, but I think he’s due and I could see him having a great deal of success against Detroit tonight. The price is fair on both sites, and I wouldn’t mind using him in either format.
Calgary Goalie – Let’s end this breakdown with the Calgary goalie, who will hopefully be Brian Elliot, as Chad Johnson has been pretty bad. The benefit as well would be that Elliot is dirt cheap, so you can really load up tonight.
