NHL DFS Picks – 11/12/16

After a bit of a shorter slate on Friday, Saturday will bring us a really nice slate that offers up a ton of good options from a variety of games. This will make things very competitive, and I am very excited about it. Below are my favorite plays for the day.

Prices listed are FD/DK.

Sidney Crosby (8700/8300) – Crosby is the best skater on the ice any time he is playing, but this matchup is even better against an absolutely awful Maple Leafs team. Crosby should have every opportunity to get shots and with his level of skill, he should be able to get at least one of them by. He is an easy anchor for your cash games tonight.

Alex Galchenyuk (6200/6700) – Galchenyuk is also in a favorable matchup against the Red Wings and will be on home ice, which certainly benefits this Montreal top line. He is priced fairly, so it won’t really take a ton of wiggling to get him into your lineup tonight. The upside is there, and he’s an excellent option on this slate.

Aleksander Barkov (5600/5800) – Florida seems to be one of those teams that scores goals in bunches, and in a home matchup against a weak Islanders team, Barkov should have plentiful opportunities to make his mark tonight. I love the upside he possesses, and he is basically dirt-cheap for someone of his caliber.

Victor Rask (4600/5600) – Rask is definitely a much riskier option against a Washington team that can be tough to score on sometimes, but I’ll roll the dice here. He’s got a lot of upside skating with Jeff Skinner, and I think their prices make it worthwhile to use in tournaments. I would also expect to see lower ownership.

Corey Perry (6800/7100) – Nashville isn’t a team that we want to really be concerned about, and Perry is an excellent shooter. I would expect that he should have a lot of opportunity at even strength and at the man advantage. I think he should be able to find his way into the net, and could put up a nice stat line tonight.

RickNash (6700/6700) – Nash is always a threat to light the lamp, and a matchup with the Flames, even on the road, is one that we could find ways to take advantage of. His price is right in the middle, but with the upside he possesses, it’s actually not too bad. I won’t hesitate to roll him out in tournaments tonight.

Johhny Gaudreau (6600/6600) – Even though the Rangers aren’t particularly prone to giving up massive games, I always like the upside of using the top line of Calgary when they are home. This is an excellent price for Johnny Hockey, and he should get plenty of chances to put the puck in the net tonight.

Filip Forsberg (6300/5500) – Anaheim is another team that can be prone to giving up big games. Forsberg definitely has a ton of upside, and the price you can get him at on DraftKings is kind of laughable. He’s a good bet to take a handful of shots, and can certainly be found with plenty of chances to score goals or helpers.

Defensemen –

Kris Letang (6900/6800) – We haven’t really doubled up on any teams yet, so let’s do that now with Letang. He is one of the best offensive defensemen in hockey, and he gets an ideal matchup with the Maple Leafs tonight. His price is up there, but I think there is a ton of upside that goes with it as well.

Ryan Suter (5700/5600) – Philadelphia can score, but they also tend to score a lot of goals as well. Suter has been phenomenal thus far this year, and I think he will be able to keep everything moving in the right direction in this one. I think he is one of the blueliners that has multi-point upside, thus we need to consider him.

Keith Yandle (5500/4800) – Yandle makes an excellent play against the Islanders tonight. He should see tons of time at even strength and at the man advantage, and is likely to see his share of shots on goal and blocked shots. His price is great, especially on DraftKings, where you certainly are getting a discount on him.

Zdeno Chara (4300/4300) – None of the Boston defensive players have been very exciting this year, but I’ll give Chara a shot at his price. I think there is enough of a chance that he could have a big night against the Coyotes, and he is really, really cheap. That is a combination I love in DFS, regardless of the sport.

Goalies –

Mathew Murray (8900/8300)– On this slate, I think I’m content with paying up at the goalie position, and Murray is near the top of the list. As long as he is starting, the matchup against Toronto is very good, and I think he’s a good bet to pick up the win on this slate.

Carey Price (10300/8400)– Price is outrageous on FanDuel, as he is the most expensive player, but he has been very solid. I think I’d rather save a considerable amount of money and just go with Murray, but if you want what should be the most safety, Price is your guy.
