Welcome back for another edition of our NHL Breakdown. Tonight, we have a nice 6 game slate, with some games that have the potential to be high scoring.

On to the picks!

Gustav Nyquist – Nyquist heads up the second line and gets the Stars tonight who like to give up goals. I like the opportunity here for Nyquist to be involved in the scoring, and he can be had at a good price.

Tomas Hertl – Hertl rewarded owners with a goal in last night’s game, and he remains in good position to do so tonight. He is on the top line and top power play line, giving him plenty of chances to score.

Ryan Callahan – Yeah, he’s on fire. His price came up a bit, but it is still too good to pass up.

Max Pacioretty – Pacioretty is turning it back on right now, and gets a good matchup against a San Jose team that hasn’t been playing their best hockey lately. While I don’t think he will repeat his last performance, he should still have a good showing.

Valeri Nichushkin – A guy on the top line of a team who can score in bunches for almost minimum price? Sign me up!

Mats Zauccarello Aasen – Aasen should be back on the top line tonight, and will be getting a good matchup against Columbus. While the Blue Jackets have been playing better hockey lately, I think they will still give up some goals in this one.

Steven Stamkos – Stamkos has been picking up his play in a big way, and tonight gets one of the best matchups you can get against the pitiful Maple Leafs. I can see another multi point outing from him tonight.

Claude Giroux – Giroux returned from injury by putting one in the net and leading his team to victory. Tonight, he gets a Calgary team that plays much worse on the road. They give up a lot of goals, and I like Giroux’s chances tonight.

Riley Sheahan– I refuse to trust DET 1 anymore, so I will default to their second line on this road game. It hasn’t been playing bad at all, and Sheahan gives you a good opportunity at a goal at a very cheap price.

Kris Letang – Letang gets a great matchup where he should see ample opportunities to score. He is the point man of the power play, and I like his chances at scoring tonight.

Marc-Edouard Vlasic – Vlasic has been outperforming the much more expensive Brent Burns over the last few games, and has another good opportunity to score tonight against Montreal.

Anton Stralman – Stralman is one of the lower priced defensemen I like tonight because of both the matchup and how well he has been playing. The Lightning should see plenty of opportunities to score and Stralman should be a part of it.

Marc-Andre Fleury – Fleury on home ice against the Coyotes who are spiraling downward is a matchup too juicy to pass up. He should see his fair share of shots, and even if a few get by, should see plenty of goal support tonight.

Andrei Vasilevskiy – If you want to spend down from Fleury, Vasilevskiy gets the matchup with the Maple Leafs. I have been burned by targeting teams against poor teams, but the process won’t go that way forever.

Good luck!
