NBA DFS Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings – 2/2/18

Welcome to another edition of ResearchFantasy’s NBA Breakdown. These picks are what I consider to be the best play of the day, relative to their price. One of the most important things we must consider in daily fantasy is how many points a player gets per dollar. It helps us identify value plays to pair with studs that we know will produce in order to maximize our potential points in lineups. I also try to identify plays that can be used in either cash games or tournaments. Typically, when I build my cash games, I am looking for players that have the best floor combined with good upside. If you have any questions, comments or suggestions, please let us know!

Pricing is FanDuel/DraftKings

Jrue Holiday (8200/7700) – I think a lot of people expected Holiday to have a big game without DeMarcus Cousins. It looked like he was on his way to a monster, but then really fell off. That caused his price to fall a little bit. I will take the discount and take a stab at Holiday again tonight. This should be a close game and I am expecting a lot of guys to go over value. I am not putting Anthony Davis in this article because he is still too cheap and should just be in your lineup.

Ricky Rubio (5900/6200) – I wanted to go with Donovan Mitchell here but I feel like he is just a little too expensive. Rubio has finally been playing better lately, and I want to grab him in this matchup. I do not know how high the ceiling is, but I do feel like he has a safe enough floor at this price to warrant using.

Jordan Clarkson (6500/6500) – I definitely want to have some exposure to this LAL/BKN game, and Clarkson is a guy I see that has a huge ceiling here. His price is down a little bit as well, which never hurts. I think he could be in for a big game tonight , so I want to get some solid exposure to him.

Dwight Howard (10000/9200) – I was really tempted to go Embiid here, but it is hard to when considering how money centers against the Pacers have been all year. Dwight is getting to the point where his upside at the price is decreasing, but I think he should be able to have a 50 pointer tonight.

Paul George (8200/7400) – Every one will likely gravitate to Russ in this game, but I think this sets up nicely for George. He will be matched up with ETwaun Moore, who he should be able to beat easily. He has big upside in this contest and I am a bit surprised that he is that cheap on DraftKings.

DeMarre Carroll (5800/5800) – Carroll is a great cash game play and also carries enough upside for tournaments tonight. He should still see extended minutes with Rondae-Hollis Jefferson out, so that makes him appealing as well. I am sure this game will be stacked a lot too, but it makes a ton of sense.
