NBA DFS Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings – 1/19/18

Welcome to another edition of ResearchFantasy’s NBA Breakdown. These picks are what I consider to be the best play of the day, relative to their price. One of the most important things we must consider in daily fantasy is how many points a player gets per dollar. It helps us identify value plays to pair with studs that we know will produce in order to maximize our potential points in lineups. I also try to identify plays that can be used in either cash games or tournaments. Typically, when I build my cash games, I am looking for players that have the best floor combined with good upside. If you have any questions, comments or suggestions, please let us know!

Victor Oladipo (9300/9600) – I really like a lot of the high priced guards tonight, and Oladipo might be my favorite. The fact that he was snubbed as a start at the All-Star game is laughable. I expect him to have a huge game here and will likely carry sizeable ownership due to the matchup.

Gary Harris (7100/6800) – I mean sure, if Will Barton is starting, I am probably going to be using him. If he is not, Harris is my guy. He showed his upside with the steals on Wednesday, and even though we cannot bank on that, we know the possibility exists. The Suns play high paced, no defense basketball, making Harris and attractive option.

Josh Richardson (6000/6200) – Richardson might not be one of my favorite guys, but I also do not think that he will see a ton of ownership either. Because of that, I want some exposure just in case he has a big game. I think that we will see much higher ownership on Whiteside, but Richardson has his upside here too.

LaMarcus Aldridge (9100/8600) – With Kawhi Leonard sidelined, it will be the Aldridge show again. The price is up there, but he has legit 40-50 point upside without Kawhi. The matchup is fair enough, and I want to focus a lot of my lineup builds tonight around Aldridge.

Willie Cauley-Stein (7200/6800) – WCS is basically the only reliable option on the Kings these days, so we have to consider him. I am willing to look his way even if Marc Gasol plays, but obviously the matchup gets better if he is out. His price is creeping close to his upside, but I am still a buyer tonight.

JayMychal Green (5200/5300) – If Gasol misses tonight, then Green will likely be one of the more highly owned players. It is with good reason, though. He does have upside. I am intrigued on what to do if Gasol plays. Green will see his ownership drop, but could still come through with a good enough game at a lower ownership.
