NBA DFS Picks – 10/14/16

Tonight, we have a five game slate that has both enticing matchups, and ones that one the surface seem challenging. We are under a week before this preseason will dry up, and that means we will likely start to see some pretty crazy lineup combinations. The Cavs played last night, so it will be interesting to see what they do with their starting lineup.

POINT GUARD:

Eric Bledsoe – Bledsoe is starting to see his minutes tick up, and I think we could see him right around that 28-30 minute mark in this one against Dallas. I am a big fan of what he is capable of doing, and he is starting to look like the player he was prior to the surgery last year. He is a great guy to plug in and use, and the matchup is fair.

Goran Dragic – Dragic has been awesome in the preseason, and it is pretty clear that this team is going to live and die through Dragic and Whiteside. The Spurs are definitely a team I am not really interested in targeting, but when you have a situation where two guys are getting all the production, you have to at least give them a look.

Stephen Curry – Curry has been battling illnesses and missing practices, but this matchup against the Nuggets is too good to pass up if he is able to suit up. I don’t think he’ll see a ton of time, but it’s irrelevant, as he can rack points up very quickly. There is little question that he has the most upside at the position today, and should be a guy to get into your lineup.

SHOOTING GUARD:

Devin Booker – It’s pretty simple at this point: if he is playing, put him in your lineup. He has been on fire in the preseason and there is little doubt in my mind that it will continue on into the regular season. The Mavericks can be a tough time to score around, but I think he should be able to have himself another big game.

Seth Curry – Seth Curry was held out of the last preseason game for precautionary reasons, but I fully expect for him to be coming off the bench and soaking up the minutes and production against Phoenix tonight. He is prone to catching fire and I love him as your second shooting guard on sites that require it.

Evan Fournier – It has been pretty amazing to me to see that even with a full lineup, Fournier was still seeing a large amount of work. I think he’s going to take another step forward this season, and I look for him to have another good game against the Pacers tonight.

SMALL FORWARD:

Kevin Durant – Nothing to see here. Durant is awesome, and he is going to do Durant things, and the fantasy upside of everyone around him is going to drop some. He is going to be the premier scorer on this team, and there is no reason to not look at him tonight if he is playing.

Kawhi Leonard– Leonard wasn’t in the lineup last time the Spurs played, so he should be good and rested for this showdown with Miami. LaMarcus Aldrdige is unlikely to be playing in this game, and I love when that happens, because even more of the offense seems to run through Leonard. He is a high upside play tonight.

Marquese Chriss – Chriss is getting a ton of minutes, and I like the spot for him tonight against the Mavericks. He is priced extremely cheap, so I think there is a very good chance he should be able to hit his value with very little effort.

POWER FORWARD:

Draymond Green – Draymond should continue to be a triple double threat each and every time this team plays, and tonight will be no different against the Nuggets. I think his scoring will suffer the most, but I think all of the others stats should be able to stay static. He’s in a good spot tonight.

Thaddeus Young – Thad didn’t have a great game the last time out, but I look for things to take a different turn tonight. I think he should be able to have a nice game against this Magic team, and he is a guy you should work to get into your lineup.

Serge Ibaka – Ibaka had a decent first showing in NBA action, and I think he will see more minutes tonight again as the team attempts to shake the rust off of him. He should be one of the top scoring options in this offense, and he is an excellent play in all formats tonight.

CENTER:

Hassan Whiteside – I mentioned Whiteside above with Dragic, but this is still a good situation for them despite going against the Spurs. Whiteside is a dominant force, and he could end up being the top fantasy center by the end of the year, despite not contributing too much with steals or assists. He should be considered the top option at the position tonight.

Myles Turner – I could very easily write up Jusuf Nurkic here, as everyone and their mother will be on him, but I’d rather use a guy who is trying to get back into game shape and should see some time. Turner has a well rounded game, and he is a guy I will be rolling in my tournaments tonight.
