A.J. Reed – 32% owned – Many were surprised when Reed was left off the roster to start the year, but a strong preseason, and especially hot early season surge, by Tyler White kept him at bay. Predictably, White fizzled out and was eventually demoted to see Reed promoted. We havent’ seen anything overly special from Reed yet, but it will come, and when it does, it will be too late to grab him. This is probably your last chance.
Pedro Alvarez – 8% owned – Pedro seems to finally be finding his power stroke, and he can be a god source of home runs once he gets going. This doesn’t have the sense of urgency that Reed does, but I do think you should keep your eyes out for a week where he is facing a string of below average righties. He will kill your batting average, but he could absolutely help with home runs.
Marwin Gonzalez – 11% owned – Marwin was on the list last week, and had a huge week this week, but somehow only increased in ownership by 3%. He is versatile, so I do not imagine that he will lose his position in the lineup any time soon. He is a great guy to have on your bench, and the fact that he is multi position eligible doesn’t hurt either.
Jose Peraza – 12% owned – Looking for stolen bases? The Reds prospect is a great bet to help you with that. Peraza was one of the Braves top prospects before getting dealt, and is showing now why he was. He does need to improve at the plate, but if he gets on base, much like Braves speedster Mallex Smith who is also a good pickup, he could snag a bag.
Lucas Giolito – 15% owned – Stephen Strasburgh hit the 15 day DL this week, and that means that we COULD get our first look at Lucas Giolito. I say could because in all likelihood the start will go to Yumeiro Petit, but there is still a chance that Giolito could be called up. IF he is, he would make a good one off streaming option.
C.C. Sabathia – 48% owned – Have you trusted C.C. yet? I have, and I haven’t been let down. This is probably the last time he will make this article since 50% is our threshold. He should be on all rosters, and is having a bit of a resurgence on the year.
